Do you attend ALA conferences?
There's been a lot of discussion on the ALA Council list about conference attendance and someone has proposed an informal survey. Regardless of the responses, someone is sure to pronounce it silly and invalid. So, if you'd like to participate in a silly and pointless exercise, please email your responses to me:
1. Type of library or other place of employment/Your position/MLS?
2. Do you regularly attend Annual or Midwinter conferences? Why or Why not?
3. If you attend, what are the reasons you attend in order of importance:
*I serve on a committee
*I am an officer of a division, section, roundtable
*I go for the programs/continuing education
*My employer insists
4. Do you use vacation or professional days (leave) to attend?
5. Does your employer pay part or all of your conference expenses?
6. What percentage of conference expenses do you personally pay?
7. What is your average length of stay at an ALA conference?
8. Do you prefer attending ALA divisional conferences (ACRL, PLA) over the larger Annual or Midwinter conferences?
9. Are there non-ALA conferences that you attend and find more useful?

Done! I sent it off to you just now from my WORK EMAIL which is surely being viewed by EYES as we speak!
