The Politburo Diktat (who I'd not heard of before today), is attempting to compile a blogging family tree. He seems to have more of a political blogging audience, and is asking for the date you started blogging, who inspired you to do so, and their political leaning (in addition to left and right, he generously offers, "other.") I submitted my info to him, but suspect if he gets a high response will have to quit his day job just to compile this project.
While I have no intention of taking on a library blogging family tree, I think it'd be an interesting informal discussion to have. I'll start: While I see Blake Carver as my blogging Godfather, I'm mostly owe my blogging life to Michael McGrorty's. After reading his gorgeous and provacative writing on libraries and life, I was prompted to start writing again, never mind that the venue was a blog. Thank you, thank you, thank you, M.
Who's blogspawn are you?
(Thanks to Norma for the post!)

That's exactly what inspired me to blog--Michael's writerliness. It helped me throw away my notions of what blogs were about and got me back into writing. I know blogging 101 says to keep it short and punchy, but I love gorgeous, careful writing and don't care if it's on paper or online.

Michael's are always inspiring, although I've considered them more in the essay class, or classy essays, than blogs.

Gosh, I'd have to say that I am the unwanted blog child of Jenny, Jessamyn and Steven.
