Library Flyer: It goes to 11

I was working on making a version of our library use guidelines and was wanting something a bit more visual. relating to noise level.  I also didn't want anything hinting of shushing, despite the numerous pieces of fine shush-themed clip art available.  Finally, it was Spinal Tap from whom I drew my inspiration.  ADD 3.20.07 Folks have asked if they can use the flyer.  Heck yeah!  If you fancy it up, I'd love to see it.

This is EXACTLY what I have needed! Due to space limitations, my computer lab moved into the library this year. I have revised and printed!!!! Thank you for sharing!!!

Visual yet very informative. Can we use the sign at our library and make some alterations?

Louise...never underestimate the power of Iowans. My stats are at least double today!

Rochelle, my dear, you've hit it! This was just posted to our statewide library listserv, dude! You're now famous in Iowa...for whatever that's worth :)

Great sign-- thanks so much for creating it and for the permission to use it.

Bryant & Stratton College in Milwaukee can sure use this :-)

This image combines my two greatest life loves: libraries and heavy metal.

I <3 it! :cD

I love it, love it, love it!

Are cell phone ringers and headphones really at one? I think if some people at my library saw that standard they would think they could scream at the top of their lungs in the library :) Great document! We are working on some new signage to deal with our noise issues, this will work great.

I love how you used the Spinal Tap album cover art as the background image! It's so black!

:-)

One note, as someone who has lived in La Crosse: in that region, it's Packers vs. Vikings, not Bears. (Bears might apply in Madison or Milwaukee, but not so close to Minnesota.)

That's a great idea. However, if I worked at a music library, I'd replace "Heavy Metal" with "Wagner" at 11. They're pretty similar, anyway, and I'm sure the music geeks would love appreciate it (especially if they also get the Spinal Tap allusion).

Fantastic!

Yes! Please use, alter, distribute, etc!

I shared it with our librarians they also wanted to know if we could use it.

Awesome. How do you feel about blatant stealing (with minor regional modification) by other libraries?

That's brilliant! I love it!
